A Note for PRPC 4.2 Users

This installation procedure differs from earlier installation procedures in significant ways. Please

review the instructions carefully. In particular, please be aware of two changes:

■ Pegasystems now recommends using data sources defined in your

application server to establish connections to your database instead of the

Process Commander connection pooling sometimes used in earlier

installations.

■ Be sure to create and configure a temporary directory that Process

Commander can use to store static data. See the section “Setting the

Explicit Temporary Directory” in the chapter that describes deployment with

your application server.
